Our History

Dr. Baker opened the office in 2005 after practicing in other areas of Calgary for 5 years. During that time he learned that he wanted to build a small family centred dental practice where patients felt comfortable seeing the same dentist and staff consistently. Many dental offices in Calgary have become large production oriented businesses and Dr. Baker feels it is important for dental care to be driven by health based needs, rather than money or insurance coverage.

Dr. Neal Baker

Dentist

Dr. Baker was born and raised in Calgary, and returned home to practice after completing his dental degree at the University of Alberta in 2000. He opened Cranston Dental Centre in 2005 and has been serving the wonderful group of families in the south since then. Dr. Baker’s focus is on dentistry for the whole family and loves seeing patients of all ages. He has continued his dental education and training through a wide variety of seminars and courses including training at the Las Vegas Institute and he is certified in Invisalign orthodontic treatment. When he is not at the office, he can be found cycling, skiing or skating with his wife and two daughters, or trying to lower his handicap on the golf course.

Joanne Trnkus

Reception

Joanne began her career in the dental field over 25 years ago. Joanne strives to ensure all patients feel welcome and keep all aspects of appointment scheduling, patient check out, and insurance processing run as smoothly as possible. Joanne is a lifelong animal lover and lives on an acreage outside of Calgary with 9 horses and 5 cats.

Kiera Roessel

RDA level II Dental Assistant

Kiera joined Cranston Dental in 2013. She completed her dental assistant training at S.A.I.T, and has been practicing for over 15 years. She has attended a wide variety of seminars and courses to keep her up to date in the ever advancing field of dentistry. She was born and raised in Calgary, and when she is not spending time with family and friends you can find her on a spin bike!

Kristen Leblanc

Registered Dental Hygienist

Kristen was born and raised in the small town of Riverview New Brunswick. She graduated in 2014 with her diploma in Dental Hygiene and immediately packed up and traded in the beach for the mountains. Her hobbies include hanging out with her dog Goose, camping, and winning at Catan!
Kristen enjoys interacting and building relationships with her patients. She feels Cranston Dental holds patient care to the highest standard and is excited to be a part of this amazing team.

Chelsa Zakresky

Registered Dental Hygienist

Chelsa was born and raised on a farm outside of Redvers, Saskatchewan. She graduated in 2008 from North Dakota State College with her diploma in dental hygiene.
Chelsa is excited to be a part of the fun and dedicated Cranston Dental team. What she likes most about working with Dr. Baker is his confidence and the pride he takes in his work.
Her favorite part about dental hygiene is having a positive impact on patients overall oral health. When she is not at the office, Chelsa is spending quality time with her husband and two beautiful girls. She has a passion for traveling, camping, softball & golf.
